Green Bay, WI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect across central and eastern Wisconsin through early Wednesday morning, as a band of wet, heavy snow moves across the region, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Counties under the warning include Marathon, Shawano, Wood, Portage, Waupaca, Waushara, Outagamie, Brown, Winnebago, Calumet, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc. Total snow accumulations are expected to reach 5 to 7 inches, with wind gusts up to 35 mph late tonight causing blowing and drifting snow, especially in open areas.

Forecasters caution that the snow’s dense, wet consistency could lead to isolated tree damage and power outages, particularly where higher totals occur. The Wednesday morning commute is expected to be slick and slow, with snow-covered and icy roads likely across much of the I-41 and Highway 29 corridors.

Residents are urged to limit travel overnight, keep emergency supplies in vehicles, and check 511wi.gov for up-to-date road conditions before heading out. Power outages should be reported promptly to local utilities, and extra caution is advised near downed branches or power lines.
