Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of McHenry Man in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights, IL – A motorcyclist was killed in a fatal crash at the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Wilke Road on Tuesday.

According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, the crash occurred at 3:51 p.m. and involved a 2005 Kawasaki Concours motorcycle and a 2014 Toyota RAV4. The motorcyclist, identified as Jack Fuchs, 19, of McHenry, Illinois, was ejected and found unresponsive in the roadway. Bystanders at the scene initiated CPR until police and fire department personnel arrived. Despite their efforts, Fuchs succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m.

Initial investigations revealed the Toyota RAV4 was making a left turn from westbound Lake Cook Road onto southbound Wilke Road. The motorcycle, traveling eastbound on Lake Cook Road, collided with the rear passenger side of the Toyota after an evasive maneuver failed.

The Arlington Heights Police Department and the Major Case Assistance Team continue to investigate the crash. No citations have been issued.
