Baton Rouge, LA – A heartbreaking incident occurred in Montegut, Louisiana, on August 22, 2024. A 7-year-old boy named Jeremiah Falgout tragically lost his life after being struck by a school bus on Louisiana Highway 665.
The fatal accident took place shortly before 4:00 p.m. According to Louisiana State Police Troop C, the bus was traveling south on LA Hwy 665 when it activated its flashing warning lights and stopped in the 500 block to drop off children. After dropping off students, the bus resumed its route southbound. Tragically, as it moved forward, the bus struck young Jeremiah Falgout.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Falgout succumbed to his injuries. The school bus driver, who showed no signs of impairment according to a breath test, remained unharmed in the crash. No passengers on the bus sustained injuries.
