Traffic Accident Involving Glen Ellyn Officer Leaves Two Injured

Glen Ellyn, IL – A Glen Ellyn police officer was involved in a traffic accident on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, at approximately 11:00 AM, when their fully marked police car collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Roosevelt Road (IL Route 38) and Briar Street in Glen Ellyn. The impact caused the passenger vehicle to roll over.

Both the officer and the driver of the passenger vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. There were no other individuals in either vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to the Glen Ellyn Police Department, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident. The driver of the passenger vehicle was cited for failing to yield at the intersection. The incident serves as a reminder for drivers to remain vigilant at intersections to avoid accidents that can result in injuries to all parties involved.
