Authorities said the driver was identified as Brandon Barletta, 33, of West Winfield. Following the K-9 search, deputies allegedly discovered a quantity of methamphetamine in his possession.
Barletta was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, according to the sheriff’s office. He was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building, where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket. Officials said he also received multiple uniform traffic tickets related to the stop.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Paris Court at a later date.
