Lombard, IL – The recent 48-hour storm system that impacted the Midwest has been confirmed to have produced tornadoes in the Villa Park and Glen Ellyn to Lombard areas. The National Weather Service (NWS) provided these updates following comprehensive damage assessments.
According to the NWS, an EF-0 tornado touched down in Villa Park on July 15th, between 9:29 PM and 9:30 PM CDT. This tornado had estimated peak winds of 75 mph, a path length of 0.8 miles, and a maximum width of 50 yards. No injuries or deaths were reported.
In the Glen Ellyn to Lombard area, an EF-0 tornado was confirmed during the same storm system. Occurring between 9:23 PM and 9:27 PM CDT, this tornado had peak winds of 85 mph, a path length of 3.1 miles, and a maximum width of 125 yards. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or deaths.
These tornadoes were part of a larger weather event that resulted in a total of 28 tornadoes across the region.
