Little Rock, AR – A tornado watch has been issued for portions of Southeast Arkansas, Northeast Louisiana, Northern Mississippi, and Southwest Tennessee. The watch is in effect from 4:50 PM CDT Saturday, April 5, 2025, until midnight CDT.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the primary threats include the likelihood of a few tornadoes, potentially intense ones, along with scattered damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph. Additionally, some areas could experience large hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Thunderstorms are expected to track northeastward across the affected areas through the evening hours as low-level wind profiles intensify in a moist and unstable air mass, increasing the potential for severe weather.
The watch area spans approximately 50 miles east and west of a line stretching from 75 miles north-northeast of Tupelo, MS, to 25 miles southeast of Monroe, LA.
