Memphis, TN – A tornado watch remains in effect until 10 PM CDT for several counties in Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee as severe weather continues to impact the region. The National Weather Service in Memphis issued the alert Friday evening, urging residents to stay vigilant for the potential of tornadoes.
The watch includes eight counties in East Arkansas: Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Mississippi, Poinsett, and St. Francis. Two counties in Southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot, are also under the watch, along with eleven counties in West Tennessee: Crockett, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, Shelby, Tipton, and Weakley.
Cities affected by the watch include Memphis, Jonesboro, Blytheville, Martin, and several others across the three states. As thunderstorms with the potential for tornadoes move through the area, residents are advised to stay tuned to local weather updates, seek shelter if necessary, and prepare for possible power outages or damage.
