Leitchfield, KY – A tornado warning remains in effect until 4:30 a.m. CST for south-central Grayson County as a severe thunderstorm moves through the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, at 4:20 a.m. CST, radar detected a storm capable of producing a tornado approximately eight miles southwest of Leitchfield, moving east at 50 mph. The storm is also producing quarter-sized hail.
Residents in Leitchfield, Caneyville, Millwood, Peth, Shrewsbury, and Black Rock are advised to seek immediate shelter. The NWS warns of potential damage to mobile homes, roofs, vehicles, and trees.
Tornadoes at night are difficult to see—take cover immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
