Tornado Outbreak in Northern Florida: EF1 and EF0 Storms Leave Trail of Damage

Tallahassee, FL – Several tornadoes were confirmed across Northern Florida on April 7, 2025, affecting multiple counties. The first tornado, rated EF1, struck Northeast Grady County from 11:02 to 11:11 AM. With winds of 110 mph, it traveled 4.43 miles before lifting. There were no reports of injuries or fatalities in the area.

Just after, an EF0 tornado, with winds of 80 mph, touched down in Southwest Leon County from 11:27 to 11:49 AM. It traveled 11.83 miles, causing minimal damage, and like the earlier storm, no injuries were reported.

Later in the afternoon, an EF1 tornado with peak winds of 105 mph impacted Northern Leon County. This tornado lasted from 12:16 to 12:27 PM and left an 8.6-mile-long path, crossing areas near Lake Iamonia. Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were recorded.

In addition, an EF1 tornado struck Southwest Colquitt County between 11:28 and 11:30 AM, producing winds up to 95 mph and traveling 0.91 miles with a 150-yard width. Again, no injuries were reported.

According to the National Weather Service, these events are still under investigation, with additional surveys underway to assess damage and confirm all storm details.
