Cleveland, OH – Strong winds are expected to sweep across northern and northeast Ohio overnight as the National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a Wind Advisory from 3 a.m. to noon EDT Sunday. The advisory includes major cities such as Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, Elyria, and Sandusky, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), sustained southerly to south-southwesterly winds near 25 mph may cause tree damage and scattered power outages Sunday morning. The advisory affects a wide stretch of counties from Lucas and Wood in the west to Lake, Geauga, and Knox in the east.
Forecasters warn that high-profile vehicles could face difficult driving conditions, particularly along Interstates 80, 90, and 71. Loose outdoor items such as patio furniture, trash bins, and Halloween decorations should be secured before winds intensify overnight.
Wind speeds are expected to ease by midday Sunday as the weather system exits eastward, though cooler and calmer conditions will follow behind the front.
