Tippecanoe County, IN – A Wisconsin man was arrested late Friday night after allegedly leading Indiana State Police on a high-speed pursuit along Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County.

According to Indiana State Police, the incident occurred on October 23, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., when Trooper Wiley attempted to stop a 2012 GMC Sierra traveling more than 110 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone near the 168-mile marker.

The driver, later identified as James Richard, 42, of Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, allegedly refused to stop and continued southbound on I-65. Trooper Wiley pursued the vehicle until it came to a stop near the 156-mile marker.

Police say Richard was taken safely into custody and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle (Level 6 felony), aggressive driving (Class A misdemeanor), and reckless driving (Class C misdemeanor).

Trooper Wiley was assisted by other troopers from the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
