Tinley Park, IL – Residents will have a chance to meet their local law enforcement officers over a cup of coffee this Thursday during the first installment of Tinley Park’s 2025 “Coffee With a Cop” series.

The community outreach event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Darla’s Deli and Café, located at 6800 W. 183rd St. The informal gathering aims to foster open communication between Tinley Park Police Department officers and residents, providing an opportunity to discuss neighborhood concerns, ask questions, and build relationships outside of emergency situations.

According to the Village of Tinley Park Public Safety Department, the program encourages neighbors to connect directly with police officers in a casual setting. No agenda or speeches are planned, just conversation over coffee.

“Coffee With a Cop” events will continue monthly throughout 2025. Upcoming dates and locations include:

  • July 17 at Dunkin’ (7941 W. 171st St.)
  • August 21 at Olympic Star Restaurant (7100 W. 171st St.)
  • September 18 at Dunkin’ (9500 W. 179th St.)
  • October 16 at Mr. Stacks Tinley Park (7164 W. 183rd St.)
  • November 20 at Krema Coffee Roasters (6760 South St.), which will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Officials say the goal of the series is to strengthen trust and transparency while encouraging a safer, more connected community. Residents of all ages are welcome to attend.
