Tinley Park, IL – Downtown Tinley will light up Friday evening as the Village of Tinley Park holds its annual Christmas Tree–Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in Harmony Square, 6700 North Street.

According to the Village of Tinley Park, the celebration will continue immediately afterward with the grand opening of the new synthetic-ice rink at 6:30 p.m. Guests can rent skates or bring their own to enjoy a holiday skating experience surrounded by festive music and firepits.

Roaming carolers and costumed characters will entertain visitors from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with local favorites Durbin’s, The Lucky Hot Dog, The Scoop, and Reina del Pozole offering food and drinks.

The ice rink will remain open throughout the season — Nov. 21 through Feb. 15 — with regular hours of 5–9 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday, 5–10 p.m. Friday, 5–10 p.m. Saturday, and 4–9 p.m. Sunday (closed on holidays). A synchronized holiday light show is also planned for early December.

Festivities continue next month with the Holiday Happenings weekend on Dec. 6–7, featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, Santa photos, shopping, live music, and the popular Parade of Lights in Harmony Square.
