Tillamook County, OR – Deputies on the Oregon Coast ended a two-day manhunt this week after locating a suspect who allegedly fled a vehicle pursuit near Cape Lookout and disappeared into the surrounding forest, according to the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, the incident began November 11 when Alexander Eaton allegedly fled from law enforcement during a traffic stop, leading to a pursuit that ended at the Cape Lookout trailhead. Deputies say Eaton abandoned his vehicle and ran into the wooded area, prompting an extensive ground search that continued into the next day.

On November 12, with assistance from the Oregon State Police, Lincoln City Police K-9 Unit, and the Lincoln City Police Department, deputies searched Cape Lookout State Park. Authorities say K-9 Nix ultimately located Eaton hiding under a log. He was taken into custody without incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, Eaton is suspected of the following offenses:
– Eluding a Police Officer
– Reckless Endangering
– Burglary in the First Degree
– Criminal Mischief in the First Degree

Deputies report no injuries during the pursuit or arrest; however, property within Cape Lookout State Park sustained damage during the incident. The sheriff’s office did not immediately release details about the extent or cost of the damage.

The investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as the case develops.
