Thunderstorms Target Muncie, La Porte, and Rensselaer This Evening

Fort Wayne, IN – Central Indiana, including Muncie, La Porte, and Rensselaer, is expected to experience severe thunderstorms tonight. The US National Weather Service Northern Indiana has issued a warning for additional scattered showers and thunderstorms developing late this evening and continuing into the overnight hours. Some of these storms may be strong, particularly in central regions.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will persist into Wednesday, gradually diminishing from northwest to southeast during the afternoon. Dry weather is anticipated by Thursday. The forecast indicates brief heavy rain and isolated damaging winds with a low confidence level.

The extended forecast for Fort Wayne predicts cloudy conditions with a high of 84°F today, and thunderstorms on Wednesday with temperatures ranging from 65°F to 78°F. Thursday will bring less humidity with highs between 76°F and 80°F.

As the week progresses, Friday will be partly cloudy with a high near 79°F, while Saturday has a 60% chance of rain, reaching 86°F. Sunday through Tuesday will see mostly sunny skies, with highs from 75°F to 81°F. The air quality remains good, ensuring a safe environment for outdoor activities once the storms pass.
