Thunderstorms Likely for Missouri, Kentucky on Independence Day as Heat Index Soars

Cape Girardeau, MO – Strong chances of thunderstorms are expected on the Fourth of July across Missouri and Kentucky, with heat indices climbing to 106 degrees in some regions. The National Weather Service has issued a weather outlook warning of a midweek heatwave.

According to the National Weather Service, Cape Girardeau will see temperatures rise from 90 degrees on Tuesday to a scorching 95 degrees on Wednesday. Paducah will experience similar conditions, with highs reaching 94 degrees and heat indices hitting 106 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely to begin Thursday, affecting Independence Day festivities.

Residents are advised to stay informed and take precautions against the heat and potential storms as the holiday weekend approaches.
