According to the US National Weather Service Chicago, these storms are expected to form between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., potentially bringing locally damaging winds and quarter-sized hail.
Friday’s forecast indicates mainly showers with isolated thunderstorms. Highs will range from 78 to 85 degrees. Northeasterly winds will help keep the Lake Michigan shore cooler through Monday.
The weekend is shaping up to be primarily dry. Saturday will see highs between 83 and 89 degrees, with cooler temperatures near Lake Michigan. A small chance of showers or thunderstorms is expected late Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening across far northern Illinois, with highs from 86 to 89 degrees.
Monday’s forecast brings a slight chance of thunderstorms, with highs between 80 and 86 degrees. An unsettled weather pattern is likely to return early next week.
