Fort Worth, TX – Central and southeast Texas are under a Winter Weather Advisory as snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected through 9 a.m. Tuesday. The advisory affects Freestone, Anderson, Bell, Falls, Limestone, Leon, Milam, and Robertson counties.

According to the National Weather Service, snow began impacting the region Monday night. Areas such as Killeen, Temple, and Rockdale may see slick conditions on roads, particularly on bridges and overpasses. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during the Tuesday morning commute as hazardous travel conditions are likely.

The snowfall, though light, could make navigating untreated roads dangerous. The Texas Department of Transportation recommends slowing down, increasing following distances, and checking real-time road conditions at drivetexas.org.

This weather marks a rare winter event for the region, where snowfall is infrequent. Residents are advised to allow extra time for travel and stay informed about changing conditions.

The advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
