Fort Worth, TX – North Texas is in for a dramatic temperature swing as an Arctic blast gives way to a major warm-up this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, dangerously cold wind chills will persist through Thursday morning, with lows around 13°F and “feels-like” temperatures as low as -5°F. An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday for the Fort Worth area, urging residents to bundle up and limit time outdoors.
By Friday, temperatures will begin rebounding, reaching a high of 38°F under partly sunny skies. Overnight lows will remain chilly at 28°F, but by Saturday, daytime highs will climb to 48°F.
Sunday marks the real turning point, with temperatures surging to 62°F under mostly sunny skies. By Monday and Tuesday, North Texas will see highs in the mid-to-upper 70s—nearly a 65-degree swing from the frigid midweek lows.
Residents should prepare for rapidly changing conditions, keeping warm gear handy for Thursday but switching to lighter clothing by early next week.
