Austin, TX – South-Central Texas is bracing for a soggy Saturday as rain showers and patchy fog blanket the region. Highs will remain in the low 50s, keeping the area cool and damp. Residents along the I-35 corridor are advised to drive cautiously, as fog and wet roads could reduce visibility throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service, rain showers are expected to ease overnight into Sunday morning. Patchy fog may linger before 10 a.m., creating additional challenges for early travelers. Conditions will improve later Sunday with highs climbing to the upper 60s.

The start of the workweek brings welcome relief, with Monday forecasted to be sunny and warm, reaching highs near 82 degrees. However, a strong cold front is projected to arrive Tuesday evening, ushering in much colder air and the region’s first freeze of the season by Wednesday morning. Low temperatures could drop into the mid-30s, prompting potential freeze warnings.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions ahead of the freeze. Protect outdoor plants, bring pets indoors, and prepare for possible frost-related impacts on roadways.

Looking ahead, clear skies and chilly temperatures will dominate midweek, with daytime highs in the 50s and lows dipping into the 30s through Thursday night. Travelers should remain aware of changing road conditions during overnight hours.
