AUSTIN, Texas – Warm, dry afternoons will continue across Central and South Texas through mid-October, with highs climbing into the lower to mid-90s each day and nights trending cooler under mostly clear skies. The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio said the region remains locked in a stable fall pattern, with minimal rain chances and a break from recent humidity.

According to the Weather Service, afternoon highs will range from the upper 80s in the Hill Country to near 95°F along the I-35 corridor and Rio Grande Plains. Cuero, Del Rio, and San Antonio could flirt with mid-90s readings early next week, while Fredericksburg and Kerrville stay closer to 88–90°F.

Overnight lows will dip into the low to mid-60s across much of the region, with Hill Country valleys cooling into the upper 50s at times. Drier air will make evenings feel more comfortable, and morning commutes may bring a touch of crispness for the first time this fall.

According to forecasters, isolated showers remain possible along the Rio Grande early next week, but overall rain chances stay below 10%. The agency noted the pattern will keep fire danger modest and road conditions favorable for outdoor events and travel. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and continue heat precautions during afternoon hours, as pavement temperatures remain high.
