Houston, Texas – Isolated thunderstorms and steamy highs near 94°F will make for a hot, muggy Sunday across Southeast Texas, with increasing rain chances expected by Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, Sunday will bring seasonally warm temperatures ranging from 90–94°F across cities like Houston, Brenham, and Conroe, while isolated storms may pop up along the coast near Galveston and Lake Jackson. Overnight lows will remain muggy in the mid-70s, with scattered coastal showers possible.

By Monday, a more active weather pattern takes shape. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected across much of the region, especially in inland areas such as Huntsville, College Station, and Livingston. Highs will again climb into the low 90s, with heat and humidity combining to create a sticky afternoon feel.

Drivers should watch for slick roads during late-day commutes on Monday. Residents are advised to limit outdoor work, stay hydrated, and monitor for lightning during any storm development.

This summer pattern of daytime heating and storm chances will likely continue through midweek. Additional updates from NWS Houston-Galveston are expected Monday morning.
