Dallas, Texas – North Texans could see outdoor plans disrupted by scattered storms this afternoon and evening, with the highest coverage expected from Dallas-Fort Worth eastward through Paris and Canton. Minor flooding, frequent lightning, and gusty winds remain the main hazards as storms develop and push east across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, isolated to scattered thunderstorms will continue to build into Tuesday evening, mainly across East Texas. Storms are most likely between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., with isolated activity possible in the DFW Metroplex, Killeen, and Canton. Highs will climb into the upper 80s to mid-90s, with heat indices near 103°F in some areas.
Localized downpours may cause ponding on roads—especially in low-lying spots in Killeen, Waco, and parts of the DFW area. Lightning will be a significant threat for anyone outdoors. Gusty winds could down tree limbs or cause brief power flickers, particularly near Cisco and Paris.
Residents are advised to keep devices charged and monitor local alerts, especially if planning travel or outdoor activities this afternoon. Stay indoors during thunder, and never drive through flooded roads.
Storm chances gradually decrease by Wednesday, but isolated showers are possible each afternoon through early next week. More advisories could be issued if conditions worsen.
