Lubbock, TX – North Texas residents will face another chilly day Friday as clouds and winds keep temperatures cooler across the region. Highs will hover around 40 degrees in Lubbock, while winds from the north could reach 15 mph, making it feel even colder.

According to the National Weather Service in Lubbock, overnight temperatures will dip to 22 degrees, with partly cloudy skies clearing into Friday morning. Residents traveling along US 87 and Interstate 27 should plan for reduced visibility at times due to low clouds early in the day.

Friday will bring some sunshine, allowing temperatures to climb slightly to a high of 50 degrees by the afternoon. Winds are expected to shift southwest and calm later in the day. The weekend promises more stable weather, with Saturday reaching 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies and Sunday peaking at 46 degrees with similar conditions.

Nighttime lows will remain cold, dropping into the low 20s through Sunday night. These freezing temperatures could pose risks for outdoor plants and uninsulated pipes, so precautions are encouraged.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a significant warm-up as temperatures near 59 degrees. A slight chance of rain returns by Tuesday night and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-50s expected.
