Houston, Texas – After a stretch of warm, humid afternoons, southeast Texas is set for a noticeable cool-down late next week as a fall cold front pushes through the Gulf Coast. High temperatures that have hovered in the 80s will trend downward toward more seasonable readings in the 70s, possibly dipping below normal by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service office in Houston/Galveston, daytime highs will stay slightly above average through the weekend, ranging from 82°F to 88°F across Houston, Sugar Land, and College Station. The first front will bring breezy, drier air Saturday night, followed by a stronger push of cool air expected around mid to late next week.

Forecasters note that confidence is increasing in a shift toward cooler conditions, though timing and exact temperatures may vary. Overnight lows are projected to drop into the upper 50s to low 60s once the front arrives—offering some long-awaited fall relief for southeast Texas.

Through early next week, the pattern remains mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Any rain chances associated with the front appear limited at this time.
