Dallas, TX – Texas is about to feel a sharp November chill as an Arctic front pushes deep into the state, driving temperatures into the 30s overnight and marking the coldest air of the season so far. According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, the front will move south Monday, November 10, spreading widespread frost potential and crisp wind chills by early Tuesday morning, November 11.

Forecast lows include 34°F in Dallas–Fort Worth, 35°F in Waco, 36°F in Austin, and 38°F in San Antonio, while Amarillo and Wichita Falls could briefly dip below freezing, reaching 30–31°F. Farther south, Houston and Victoria are expected to hover near 40°F, with patchy inland frost possible.

The National Weather Service offices in Fort Worth, Austin–San Antonio, and Houston say the front will bring a dramatic change from weekend warmth, as temperatures fall more than 25 degrees in just 24 hours. Northwest winds gusting 20–30 mph behind the front will drive apparent temperatures into the upper-20s and low-30s across the Hill Country and North Texas plains.

According to the Weather Prediction Center’s Day 3–7 Hazards Outlook, Texas sits along the southern edge of a large “Frost/Freeze” corridor extending from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast.

Tuesday’s highs will remain chilly, in the 50s statewide, before moderating slightly midweek.

Residents should protect tender plants, bring pets inside, and prepare for patchy frost early Tuesday morning.
