Houston, TX – Southeast Texas is set for a warm weekend with temperatures reaching the upper 70s and low 80s before a cold front arrives early Monday, bringing a chance of strong to severe storms.
According to the National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston, highs will climb into the 80s across much of the region, with lows gradually rising from the 40s and 50s into the 50s and 60s. Areas including Houston, College Station, and Conroe will see temperatures peak between 83-86°F by Monday. Along the coast, Galveston will experience slightly cooler temperatures, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.
A cold front is expected to move through late Sunday night into early Monday, bringing an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms. The NWS warns that some of these storms could be severe, with heavy rainfall and strong winds possible. The highest probability of precipitation is expected Monday morning, with rain chances tapering off by the afternoon.
While temperatures will briefly cool down on Monday, warmer conditions are expected to return midweek, with highs once again climbing into the 80s.
