Austin, Texas – Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue across Central Texas this week, with highs climbing into the 80s before a cooler pattern returns next weekend.
According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio office, highs will run about 10 degrees above normal through Thursday, making it the warmest day of the week. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the mid-70s to mid-80s across Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos, and surrounding communities.
Mostly sunny skies will dominate, though patchy early morning fog is possible across eastern areas. Southerly winds will help boost temperatures through midweek.
A cold front is forecast to move through late in the week, bringing temperatures back closer to seasonal averages by next weekend. Despite the frontal passage, no rain chances are currently expected over the next seven days.
Residents should take advantage of the dry, warm stretch while preparing for a modest cool-down heading into the weekend.
