El Paso, Texas – Scorching heat returns to the Borderland this weekend, with El Paso set to hit 101°F by early Saturday afternoon — and that’s just the start. A summer weather alert is in effect as dry, triple-digit temperatures persist through early next week, raising concerns for heat-related illnesses and travel delays along I-10 and area roadways.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, Saturday’s high will peak at 101°F under mostly sunny skies with light northeast winds. Sunday looks just as intense, with another 101°F high and only a slight chance of late-day thunderstorms. Overnight lows will offer little relief, hovering near 76°F to 77°F each night.

By Monday, a slight pattern shift brings a 40% chance of evening thunderstorms, offering some temporary cooling. But by Tuesday, the heat rebounds again with highs back near 97°F.
