Texas – Warm air drifts across San Antonio this morning as clouds hang low over the city and a humid breeze pushes in from the southeast.

The early hours feel mild, with temperatures already near 71°F across the metro.

Drivers along Interstate 35, Loop 410, and Highway 281 are starting the day under mostly cloudy skies. Roads remain mostly dry, but moisture in the air hints at a more active weather pattern ahead.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin–San Antonio, only a slight chance of showers develops through the day. Most areas will simply see clouds gradually thin as the afternoon warms.

Temperatures climb quickly toward 86°F, giving South Texas a taste of early spring heat.

The atmosphere remains unstable across the southern Plains, however. Meteorologists are watching a developing storm pattern that could push storms into central and south Texas heading into the weekend.

For now, today remains mostly quiet.

A few isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop Friday afternoon, but coverage stays limited across the San Antonio area.

The more active stretch arrives Saturday.

Rain chances increase sharply with showers likely and thunderstorms possible across Bexar County and surrounding communities. Some storms could bring heavier downpours during the day.

Storm activity peaks Saturday night as thunderstorm chances climb near 90 percent across the region.

Drivers should plan extra travel time if storms develop along I-35 or Loop 1604.

Showers continue into Sunday, though temperatures cool slightly with highs near 72°F.

Sunday morning also brings the annual Daylight Saving Time change, when clocks jump forward one hour at 2 a.m. Brighter evenings will quickly follow.

Looking ahead, early next week keeps the warm pattern alive. Highs may reach the low 80s by Monday and Tuesday, signaling that spring warmth is settling across South Texas.

Are you already feeling the early spring heat where you are in San Antonio this morning?
