Fort Worth, Texas – Fall heat meets storm risk in North Texas Thursday, with Fort Worth residents bracing for a humid 94°F and a chance of pop-up storms by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, a weak disturbance could spark scattered thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Thursday, especially across Tarrant, Parker, and Johnson counties. South-southeast winds up to 10 mph will push in Gulf moisture, fueling isolated downpours that could trigger minor street flooding—especially along I-35 and surface roads with poor drainage.

Friday brings a higher threat of rain, with a 40% chance of thunderstorms expected by late morning. While widespread severe weather isn’t likely, brief wind gusts and lightning are possible. Residents should secure loose outdoor items and avoid outdoor work during peak storm hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday remain muggy, with highs in the low 90s and lingering storm chances each afternoon. Even without widespread rain, humidity levels will remain high, pushing the heat index toward 100°F again.

Rain chances dip slightly by Monday, but temperatures stay warm through early next week. More updates are expected if rainfall totals climb or if a severe weather advisory is issued.
