According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, there’s a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning after 1 p.m. Saturday, intensifying through Saturday night. Gusty south winds up to 25 mph will accompany the storm system, potentially impacting outdoor events and evening travel.

Southwest Amarillo, including I-27 and U.S. Route 60 corridors, may see slick roads and reduced visibility during peak rainfall.
