Fort Worth, Texas – Storms may roll through Fort Worth late Saturday, but it’s the incoming early summer heat that could have a longer impact.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20% chance of thunderstorms will develop after 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, across Tarrant County and surrounding areas. Skies will remain mostly sunny earlier in the day, with highs climbing to 86°F. Winds will shift from the southeast at 5 mph, helping to build the humidity ahead of the evening system.

While Saturday night brings only a slight rain chance, Sunday raises it to 30% by afternoon, with continued storm potential and highs near 88°F. These storms could disrupt weekend plans and create brief travel slowdowns on I-35 and Highway 121.

By Monday, June 2, Fort Worth enters a stretch of high heat with minimal storm relief. Highs will reach 93°F both Monday and Tuesday, with only a 20–30% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Overnight lows hover in the mid-70s, offering little cooling relief.

Air conditioners will get their first real summer test next week as the heat intensifies. Residents should stay hydrated, limit midday outdoor activity, and check cooling systems now.

Extended 5-Day Preview (June 1–5):

  • Sunday: 30% storm chance, high 88°F
  • Monday: 20% storm chance, high 93°F
  • Tuesday: 30% storm chance, high 92°F
  • Wednesday: 50% storm chance, high 87°F
  • Thursday: Partly sunny, high 88°F

Heads up: Smoke from Canadian wildfires could still reduce air quality through early next week across parts of North Texas.
