Houston, TX – Fog and thunderstorms could slow down Sunday morning plans in Houston as warm, moist air triggers low visibility and scattered storms.
According to the National Weather Service, a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and fog will impact the area before 9 a.m. Sunday, with temperatures rising to a high of 82°F later in the day. Commuters along I-45 and surrounding roadways should plan for possible delays due to reduced visibility and slick roads early in the morning.
The fog will begin lifting mid-morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies and warm spring conditions. Winds from the south will range from 5 to 10 mph, helping to clear the fog by mid-morning.
Sunday night brings another 20 percent chance of storms, mainly before midnight, with lows dipping to around 70°F.
Looking ahead, Houston residents can expect sunny and dry weather to dominate the start of the week:
- Monday: High of 83°F, partly cloudy early, then clearing.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high near 81°F.
- Wednesday: Partly sunny and warmer, with a high around 87°F.
- Thursday: 20% chance of storms, high of 87°F.
- Friday: Another 20% chance of storms, highs near 86°F.
