According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, storms are forecast to develop mainly east of a Merkel to Sterling City to Big Lake line, continuing into early Sunday morning. The highest risk includes the eastern Big Country and Heartland regions. Some storms may intensify quickly and produce hail up to tennis ball size along with wind gusts capable of causing damage.

The active weather window is expected from 9 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday, prompting residents to prepare now for possible power outages and property damage.
