Texas – Thick clouds hang over San Antonio this afternoon, and the air feels heavy as moisture lingers across the region. A few isolated storms could still pop up, signaling a more unsettled stretch ahead.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms continues into the afternoon, with highs reaching near 85°F under mostly cloudy skies. While coverage remains limited early, conditions are gradually shifting toward a more active pattern.

Across San Antonio, New Braunfels, and surrounding areas, drivers along I-35 and Loop 410 should watch for brief slick spots if a storm develops. Visibility may drop quickly in isolated downpours, even if most areas stay dry.

By Tuesday, clouds linger with another slight storm chance and highs in the mid-80s. The better opportunity for rain arrives Wednesday, when storm chances increase to around 30 percent during the day. Some storms could bring brief heavy rain and gusty winds.

This midweek shift comes as a broader system moves across Texas, increasing instability and allowing storms to develop more easily during the afternoon hours. Conditions may change quickly, especially during peak travel times.

By Thursday, drier air begins to return with partly sunny skies and highs near 88°F. Temperatures continue to climb into the upper 80s and near 90°F by Friday, signaling a return to a warmer and more stable pattern.

Tuesday: High 84°F, slight chance of storms
Wednesday: High 83°F, chance of storms
