San Antonio, Texas – Triple-digit heat returns to Central Texas as San Antonio braces for highs near 98°F by Tuesday afternoon, July 29th, with heat index values climbing as high as 102°F.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s sunshine and calm winds will create dangerous heat conditions across Bexar County and surrounding areas. The hottest stretch of the week begins Tuesday and continues through the weekend, with daily highs peaking near 99°F from Wednesday through Saturday.
Residents should limit outdoor activity between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets. TXDOT warns that heat-related road issues may increase, especially along heavily trafficked routes like I-35 and Loop 410.
Tuesday’s forecast: sunny skies and light southeast winds up to 5 mph. While air temperatures reach 98°F, humidity will push the heat index into triple digits.
By Wednesday, temperatures climb to 99°F with little relief overnight as lows hover around 77°F. Thursday and Friday repeat the same pattern — hot days, warm nights, and mostly clear skies.
Looking ahead to the weekend, a slight 20% chance of thunderstorms returns Saturday and Sunday. Though brief, these storms could bring localized relief and isolated lightning.
