Texas – Headlights glow through thick gray mist across San Antonio as dense fog blankets roads during the early hours.

A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 10 a.m., with visibility dropping below one mile at times. Moist air trapped near the surface has created hazardous travel conditions, especially on elevated roadways and near waterways. Drivers on I-35, I-10, Loop 410, and U.S. 281 should slow down and allow extra stopping distance.

According to the National Weather Service office serving Austin and San Antonio, fog gradually thins late this morning as sunshine breaks through. Until then, conditions may change quickly from block to block. Use low-beam headlights and avoid sudden lane changes.

Once the fog lifts, the afternoon turns warm and calm. Highs reach the upper 70s, making it feel more like late fall than December. That warmth does not last long. Clouds increase tonight, and a weak front slides through before sunrise.

Sunday brings a noticeable shift. Temperatures fall into the 50s during the morning, with brisk north winds making it feel cooler. Skies turn partly sunny, but the air feels sharper compared to today’s humidity. Outdoor plans should include a light jacket, especially early.

Sunday night turns cooler again, with lows near 40 degrees across the metro area. Patchy fog is less likely, but damp ground could still create localized low visibility late.

Monday starts a quieter stretch. Sunshine returns with highs near 58, followed by gradual warming through midweek. By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs climb back into the 60s and 70s, with dry conditions holding.

For now, the biggest concern remains travel this morning. Fog-related crashes spike quickly under conditions like these.
