San Antonio, TX – Spring heat and strong gusts will grip Bexar County this week, pushing temperatures into the 90s with winds reaching 30 mph by Thursday. The National Weather Service warns of increasing instability ahead of potential thunderstorms late Friday night into the weekend.

According to the NWS San Antonio office, Wednesday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high of 88°F. Winds will strengthen from the south between 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. On Thursday, the high climbs to 91°F with gusts increasing to 30 mph, raising fire weather concerns and potentially impacting travel on I-10 and I-35 corridors.

By Friday, highs will peak near 92°F under mostly cloudy skies. Thunderstorm chances develop late Friday night after 1 a.m. with southeast winds gusting up to 25 mph. Saturday brings a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, which may disrupt Easter weekend plans, especially for outdoor gatherings.

Residents should stay weather-aware and monitor alerts for possible changes to the weekend storm outlook. If planning travel or events Friday night through Sunday, have a backup plan and monitor real-time radar.
