San Antonio, Texas – South-Central Texas heads into another sweltering stretch Friday, July 25, with San Antonio expecting a 98°F high and a heat index as high as 102°F. Anyone traveling along I-35 or working outdoors should stay hydrated, limit exertion between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and keep devices charged in case of isolated power disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service, calm morning conditions will give way to intense afternoon heat Friday. While skies will remain mostly sunny, a slight chance of showers moves in late Friday night, especially after 10 p.m., with clouds thickening into Saturday.

By Saturday, temperatures will dip slightly to a high near 92°F, but rain chances increase after 7 p.m., with a 30% chance of thunderstorms through early Sunday morning. Sunday brings another 20% chance of rain after 1 p.m., with highs reaching 96°F. Gusty winds could reach 20 mph — enough to knock over unsecured outdoor items.

Though Monday appears dry and hot with highs near 97°F, residents should be cautious: the heat persists with little overnight relief. Nighttime lows stay stuck in the upper 70s through early next week.
