San Antonio, Texas – Fall may be here, but San Antonio is still stuck in summer heat with highs in the 90s through Saturday, October 4. Drivers on I-35 and I-10 should prepare for hot pavement and extra glare during the afternoon commute as sunny skies dominate most of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, Thursday will top out near 96°F with calm conditions before winds shift from the east. Friday brings the only slight chance of rain this week, with a 20% chance of showers late in the day as highs hold near 93°F. Winds will stay light, but humidity may build just enough to spark isolated showers.

Saturday looks sunny and hot again, reaching 92°F by mid-afternoon. Those planning to decorate for Halloween or spend extended time outdoors should take precautions, including staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen. Roads will remain dry, reducing flood risk, but heat build-up on concrete and metal could still pose safety issues for pets and children.

By Sunday and into early next week, the region returns to stable conditions with highs between 93°F and 94°F. Rain chances stay slim, but the pattern could shift mid-October if cooler air finally reaches South Texas.

Warm weather lovers get several more days of sunshine, but fall heat lingers for now. More advisories may be issued if rain chances strengthen after the weekend.
