Lubbock, TX – An unseasonably warm weather pattern continues to dominate West Texas, with temperatures running nearly 20 degrees above normal for mid-November, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Lubbock. The region is on track for several days of record-challenging heat.

According to NWS forecasters, high temperatures today will climb into the upper 70s and mid-80s under sunny skies. Friday and Saturday are expected to be even warmer, with highs reaching the low to upper 80s across Lubbock and surrounding areas. Multiple locations could approach or exceed long-standing daily records.

Dry conditions remain firmly in place. Rain chances sit at 0% each day through the weekend, with humidity levels staying low and skies consistently clear. Winds will generally range from 10 to 15 mph, shifting slightly between west-southwest and south over the next several days.

Overnight lows will fall into the low 40s to mid-50s, offering mild nighttime conditions compared to average November temperatures in the upper 30s.

The warm trend continues into Sunday and Monday, when highs are expected to reach the low 70s to low 80s. Monday may see slightly stronger winds, gusting up to 25 mph, but no significant weather impacts are currently expected.

Forecasters note that while this warm spell is not unusual during La Niña–leaning years, the consistency and intensity of late-season heat are notable. Cooler air may return later next week, but confidence in timing remains low.

Residents planning weekend events, agricultural work, or outdoor recreation can expect ideal weather—though the warmth may feel more like early October than mid-November.
