Texas – Rain taps steadily on rooftops across Dallas this morning as a slow-moving storm system pushes across North Texas.

Warm, humid air sits over the metroplex with temperatures already near 73 degrees early in the day. That moisture is fueling rounds of showers and thunderstorms developing across the region.

Meteorologists say storms will move across Dallas–Fort Worth through the morning and midday hours, producing periods of heavy rain and lightning.

Wet pavement is already creating slick conditions on major corridors including Interstate 35, I-30, and U.S. Highway 75. Drivers should slow down and expect sudden reductions in visibility when heavier rain moves through.

Localized rainfall totals could approach half an inch to three-quarters of an inch in stronger downpours.

Some storms may briefly intensify, but widespread severe weather is not expected at this time. Still, lightning and heavy rain could disrupt travel or outdoor plans.

Conditions should gradually improve later in the day as rain coverage decreases. Temperatures hold in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

A quieter stretch arrives Sunday with sunshine returning and highs near 73 degrees, offering a brief break from storms.

The bigger weather story then shifts to a spring warm-up. By Monday, temperatures surge toward 81 degrees across Dallas, bringing a clear taste of early spring across North Texas.

Scattered thunderstorms may return Monday afternoon and again by Tuesday as additional disturbances move across the region.

Residents should also remember the Daylight Saving Time change early Sunday morning, when clocks move forward one hour at 2 a.m.

For now, meteorologists continue tracking waves of rain across the metroplex.
