Lubbock, TX – Temperatures across West Texas are warming up as sunny skies and mild southeast breezes bring springlike conditions to the region Friday.
According to the National Weather Service Lubbock, highs will reach around 80°F in Lubbock and nearby cities, including 82°F in Brownfield, 81°F in Aspermont, and 79°F in Childress. Lighter winds ranging from 5 to 15 mph out of the southeast will accompany the warm, dry air.

Motorists and outdoor workers are advised to stay hydrated and use sun protection during peak afternoon hours. While the current conditions are stable, rapid weather changes are common in the Texas Panhandle this time of year, especially heading into mid-April.
Friday’s highs remain slightly above average for this time of year, and the NWS advises residents to monitor for updated weekend alerts as wind speeds and fire danger could increase by Sunday.
