San Antonio, TX – A muggy stretch of weather continues across South-Central Texas as temperatures soar into the 90s this weekend, with relief expected early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, highs will climb into the mid-90s in cities like San Antonio and Carrizo Springs on Sunday. Del Rio and Eagle Pass are forecast to reach 92°F, while Austin and surrounding Hill Country areas stay in the mid to upper 80s.
Humidity will remain high, pushing heat index values above 95°F in some areas. A cold front arriving Monday will bring slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity, with highs dropping into the upper 70s and low 80s.
The only significant weather hazard is the chance for isolated thunderstorms east of I-35 on Sunday, primarily in the afternoon. No widespread severe weather is expected.
Officials advise residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours. Drivers should check air conditioning systems before long trips, especially in vehicles parked outdoors.
The region sees a return to near-normal warmth Tuesday through Thursday, with minimal weather impacts expected.
This warm spell aligns with late March trends, though temperatures are running slightly above average for the region.
