Houston, Texas – Sweltering heat and gusty winds will dominate Houston today as temperatures soar to 95°F, driving heat index values past 107°. Outdoor workers and commuters on I-45 should prepare for humid, hazardous conditions through late Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, south winds will push 10–15 mph today, with gusts as high as 30 mph by evening. Monday night brings cloud cover and continued warm air, with lows only dipping to around 78°F. These conditions set the stage for another hot and breezy day on Tuesday, with a high near 95°F and slightly calmer southwest winds.

Wednesday offers a brief respite with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 90s. However, eyes are already on Thursday, when a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms could disrupt the afternoon commute and outdoor plans across Harris County. While rainfall totals aren’t expected to be heavy, any storm could bring lightning and sudden wind gusts.

Friday and Saturday bring more of the same: sunny, steamy conditions with highs near 91°F. A slight chance of scattered storms returns Sunday, with a 30% chance of showers and another hot high near 91°F.

Stay hydrated, limit midday sun exposure, and secure lightweight outdoor items like patio furniture, which could shift or topple in gusty winds.

⚠️ More updates are expected if Thursday’s storm threat intensifies. Check back by Wednesday evening for the latest storm timing and safety tips.
