Corpus Christi, TX – Strong winds and choppy waters are impacting the Corpus Christi area, prompting safety warnings for boaters and residents. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Small Craft Advisory through 3 p.m. for the bays and 6 p.m. for offshore waters. Winds are expected to reach 20 knots, with gusts up to 25 knots, while seas may rise to 8 feet.
According to the NWS, the hazardous conditions could be dangerous for small vessels and inexperienced mariners. Officials urge boaters to avoid navigating under these conditions and to remain vigilant if travel is unavoidable. Bays will remain rough, with similar conditions persisting into the evening.
Monday’s forecast includes sunny skies with a high near 60°F, while winds from the north-northeast will persist at 17 mph, tapering slightly overnight. Tuesday’s weather is expected to stay cloudy, with temperatures peaking at 58°F and wind gusts reaching 20 mph by the afternoon. Rain chances increase Tuesday night, with a 30% likelihood of showers after midnight.
Looking ahead, Wednesday could see additional rain and gusty conditions, while Thursday brings a slight chance of early morning showers before clearing to partly sunny skies. Weekend temperatures will trend warmer, with highs nearing 72°F on Saturday.
