Fort Worth, TX – Warm, dry, and breezy conditions are expected to return across North and Central Texas starting Monday, increasing the risk of wildfires west of the I-35 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, today will be seasonably warm with highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s, clear skies, and light winds. However, gusty winds and low humidity will resume Monday and persist through midweek, leading to elevated to critical fire weather concerns in areas west of I-35.
A strong cold front is forecast to arrive midweek, bringing cooler temperatures. By Wednesday, highs will drop into the mid-60s across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Waco areas, with lows in the 40s overnight. Despite the temperature drop, dry conditions will continue, keeping the fire threat active.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and take precautions to prevent fire starts, especially in vulnerable areas with dry vegetation. Fire officials recommend securing outdoor equipment, properly disposing of cigarette butts, and staying informed about local burn bans.
