San Angelo, TX – A Dust Storm Warning has been issued for the northern Concho Valley and Coleman County, with hazardous conditions expected through 4:45 PM CDT on Friday, March 14, 2025.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Abilene/San Angelo, the storm is producing near-zero visibility due to blowing dust, creating dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions. Areas affected include Sterling City, Robert Lee, Ballinger, Winters, Carlsbad, Miles, and Coleman, impacting major highways such as US-277, US-67, and US-83.

Motorists are urged to pull off the road as far as possible and turn off their lights if they encounter low visibility. The warning covers a population of over 26,000 residents, with officials advising against unnecessary travel in affected areas.

Dust storms in this region can develop quickly, and conditions may deteriorate with little warning. Residents should stay indoors, avoid exposure to blowing dust, and monitor local updates from NWS and emergency management officials.
